This page is about the Loading Screen in Crossfire and how it has changed across time. This article also covers features of customization of the player's character while loading in-game.

Image History[]

Beta[]

Loading screens used to have a different design as well as the lobby interface as well.

Release[]

After the game came out of Beta, this was the standard format for many years and it was only slightly changed after the 2.0 update.

After 2.0 Patch[]

The maps released after the 2.0 update features a 2.0 character on the loading screen instead of the regular one and brighter backgrounds (see examples above and below: Search & Destroy and Team Deathmatch). Also, all the current maps keep their characters unchanged, except the remastered versions of tournament maps.

CF China Test Server[]

This format was only used in the test servers. It was modified later upon release on the official server. It shows information about the players such as IGN, character, rank, clan and class card, and the number of slots in the room.

Note that this format is used in all other servers with Hell Tower (Trial Challenge Mode map), even if the new loading screen has yet to arrive. Due to a bug, all players will show up as SWAT, except the 1st slot one that shows their actual characters.

CF Official Loading Screens[]

These are the final version of the new loading screens. It also shows information about the players such as in-game name, character, rank, clan and class card, and the number of slots in the room. There is also a rank background behind the character's portrait which shows the player's rank in the previous Ranking Season. Instead of having the background as an image of the map, they use a mode-specific background and the map is displayed as a banner in the top right corner.

Since the Mutant Escape Mode has been extended the room up 30 players, the loading screen also adapted with smaller slots to fit with 30 players.

Character Portrait[]

The Character Portrait shows what character the player has equipped, In-Game Name, rank, clan name and emblem, and any customization the player has. Some aspects of the Character Portrait can be customized or is able to display an effect around the Character Portrait by using a specific item such as using a full set of Fury Beast or as a reward from activities such as Ranked Match.
