Hero

Hero (Savior in CF China) is a special character only available in Hero Mode and Mutant Escape Mode.

Equipment[]

The Hero comes equipped with a FAL Camo and one Mutation Vest (Hero Mode only, stackable with its counterpart item). The FAL Camo can't be dropped. Also, anyone in the match can see where the Hero is due to the Hero tag on his head.

Role in Hero Mode[]

Upon starting the match, all players in the room have the chance to become the Hero. Once the mutant countdown hits zero, one random soldier will become the Hero. Being the Soldier's leader, the Hero takes responsibility for helping his comrades fending off the mutants 'till the timer runs out. Use your rifle carefully and keep the grenades for dire situations. Hunt down the mutants if their number isn't high, and take the chance to refill your ammo every once in a while through supply boxes so you can keep going with your teammate. When in defense, always keep an eye for dangerous mutants such as Maidens and Assassins, and use a grenade launcher to push them out if they happen to sneak in your defense place.

Role in Mutant Escape Mode[]

The Hero is now offered to the last few survived soldiers in MEM, which they can turn into by pressing E (similar to the process in Hero Mode X to become Commando/Nemesis/Devil Hunter). The Heroes in this mode has better equipment, including the upgraded FAL Camo that holds 80 rounds per magazine and has faster reload, grenade launching speed, plus they cannot be infected, they can only be killed like other heroes (but also respawns as a mutant).

The Hero starts with 7000 HP, the same amount of Commando/Nemesis/Devil Hunters' HP (it was used to be 14000 HP but this was changed later).

Role in Master Hero Mode X[]

If played in maps with random buff turned on (such as Void Island), one of the buff will allow a random Solider to become Hero upon starting the round. The FAL-Custom Camo equipped by Hero in this mode shares the same improved stats in MEM, plus Hero can pick up Master Hero Box without transforming to Commando first.

Role in Elite PvE Mode[]

Hero is available as support NPC in Ranked ZM games. In Evil Mansion, the Hero joins players at the start of Round 4 and help shooting zombies with his signature FAL-Custom Camo, although he's unable to use the Grenade Launcher module. In Pentagon, Hero is one of the rare mercenaries available only in Stage 10, he has the best stats among all mercenaries and will provide great help with his firepower. In both map, the Hero will provide damage buff for 5 seconds every 45 seconds as long as he's alive (Evil Mansion) or recruited (Pentagon).

Special Character[]

In CF Vietnam, Hero is available as a special character, alongside Commando, Nemesis, Fury Ghost and the special form of The Fates, Switcher and Subject Alpha. Like Fury Ghost, players need to equip a special Tattoo for Hero to be usable in normal modes, which makes his face unrecognizable. Unlike the said character, Hero does not feature any special perk globally; however, when used in Hero Mode, players will always become Hero once the countdown hit Zero.

Currently, there is only one player in CF Vietnam who has Hero character in their storage after winning a VIP race in August 2018.

Trivia[]

When the Hero is either killed or falling off the map in Mutant Escape Mode, the death sound is shared with dead Commando. However, after respawned as a mutant, the death sound of that mutant is still the same as the dead Hero. This is most likely a glitch. It was subsequently fixed.
- Also, pressing "E" to become Hero. The transform sound also shared from Commando.
After an update patch in CF Vietnam, this character incorrectly shows the glitched HUD with bigger arms texture (but the hands and gloves are still correct) as it was taken from GR's long-sleeved arms model while this doesn't apply for Hero.
