L86 LSW has a longer barrel than the L85A1 rifle and a bipod, shoulder strap, and rear pistol grip, together with a shorter handguard. The extended barrel provides an increased muzzle velocity and further stabilizes the bullet, giving a greater effective range.
- Weapon description

L86 LSW (Light Support Weapon) is a machine gun in CrossFire.

Overview[]

L86 LSW is patterned after L85A1, this gun behaves more like an assault rifle rather than a machine gun as it combines good firepower and accuracy with medium-high recoil, light-weight, and medium draw and reloading time. Its recoil is quite easy to control if compared to most MGs. The spraying pattern is also quite predictable.

It has a small magazine capacity of 30 rounds, bigger than the MG13, and CSRG M1915, but smaller than any other machine guns. It comes with 180 spare rounds though, allowing soldiers to last fairly long.

Advantages[]

  • Moderate-high damage dealing.
  • High accuracy.
  • Fast rate of fire.
  • Lightweight.
  • Fast reloading speed.
  • Fast drawing speed.

  • Medium-high recoil.
  • Easily runs dry.

Availability[]

Available in all CrossFire versions.

Trivia[]

  • Due to a large amount of reserve ammo, L86 LSW is very dangerous when buffed up with RPK-Infernal Dragon (+20 rounds per mag) or Gatling Gun-Infernal Dragon (+ 10 rounds). It can carry up to 150/2700 rounds (6 RPK-ID + additional ammo + 50% ammo boost for MM) in MMM/HM/HMX, far surpassing the M249 Minimi-Gold.
  • This is the only weapon uses a STANAG magazine just like commonly found on assault rifle.
  • In real life, L86 has been widely replaced by Minimi or converted into L22 (which is a carbine variant of SA80).
