This page is about the Loading Screen in Crossfire and how it has changed across the time.
Loading screens used to have a totally different design as well as the lobby interface aswell.
After the game came out of Beta, this was the standard format for many years and it was only slightly changed after the 2.0 update.
After 2.0 Patch
The maps released after the 2.0 update features a 2.0 character on the loading screen instead of the regular one and brighter backgrounds (see examples above and below: SnD and TD). Also, all the current maps keep their characters unchanged, with the exception of the remastered versions of tournament maps.
CF China Test Server
This format was only used in the test servers. It was modified later upon release on the official server. It shows information about the players such as IGN, character, rank, clan and class card and the number of slots in the room.
Note that this format is used in all other servers with Hell Tower (ZM3 map), even if the new loading screen has yet to arrive. Due to a bug, all players will show up as SWAT, except the 1st slot one that shows their actual characters.
CF Official Loading Screens
These are the final version of the new loading screens. It also shows information about the players such as IGN, character, rank, clan and class card and the number of slots in the room. Instead of having the background as an image of the map, they use a mode-specific background and the map is displayed as a banner in the top right corner. These are available in the following versions:
- CF China
- CF North America
- CF Brazil
- CF Vietnam
- CF Philippines
- CF Russia
- CF Europe
- CF Espanol
- There is a bug in CF Europe where the new loading screen is showing the KR type ranks instead of the NA one.
Players can choose at will between the new or the old loading screens. This feature is currently available only in CF China.
